Life in a 24hr broadband internet age...

I have four blogs, a flickr account and a daughter...

I have been asked many times how I manage to do all this and more.

Well, everyone goes through a phase in their lives when some thing just consumes the whole of them and becomes a integral part of their life. I started blogging a little over a year ago and from then on it's become a way of life.
Blogging become one of the many colours of my life...

As much as I love sharing and getting inspired in the form of blogging & flickring, the amount of time I spend online is enormous and it eats away into my time, that I used to spend enjoying my other colours of life.

Some of my other blogger friends have done it and I plan to do now. No, no I am not taking a break!

I plan to limit my internet time to an hour a day...!
One Hour!
How am I going to blog, flickr and visit all those amazing blogs?

Honestly, I Don't know.

Meanwhile let me leave you all with the aroma of freshly baked Cinnamon Rolls and the dreamy music of 'Om Shanti Om' that I have been listening on re-play lately.
You can watch the trailer of the lovely song- 'Ajab si' here.

Archana, so ironic & coincidental that I should read this on yr blog today- just yesterday I was thinking- this can't go on. u won't believe it- because blogging time can't come from any other area in my life ( I have more than a 9-5 job- you've been in advertising - u should know, I have a family, friends- the people I love, all of whom I can't drop off :) - I take it out of my time to sleep- not slept for more that 6 hrs on an avrg- for the past 3 months- crazy? but u should know- I wondered how everybody seemed to be managing to be so active on the net + life the rest of their life- I completely understand. There has to be a balance. U you go find yours- There has to be a life from which everythng else has to flow. Congrats on the good decision :)

It's always hard to restrict oneself from the things that gives us the greatest pleasure..I hope you do find the balance....

Yes I totally agree with you arch. Internet can get addictive so much so that we stop living the real life and are too much in the virtual world. Life has to have balance.. little of everything. I always feel that there are so many things to do in this world but I dont even attempt a fraction of them. The other day I was watching "Maayka" Zee tv serial.. in that the grandmother says "jindagi jeene ke liye hoti hai beti use jeeni chahiye"(when the granddaughter is just consumed by one thing). Turn off the internet for two days a week completely and you will see how much more time you have. As they say.. the more I do the more time I have.

I hear you Arch! I have felt this way, but curbing the blog time has been something that i could not achieve!
I deprive myself of my sleep to compensate. Cannot cut into work time, cooking time, time with kids etc etc.! Well, i guess everyone has to find their own balance.
But hey good luck to you!

one hour a day. well done you :)

You have always been so wonderful and supportive with my blog and flickr pictures and I know what it is like simply not to have the time to do all the things one wants to do and keep up with all the blogging!!!

So I support you totally, and I'm sure you will find a balance.

Only one hour!!!! Good luck to you:-)

I have three blogs which I try to update every day. I have my computer in the livingroom and try to squeeze in minutes as often as possible. But you are right - it takes too much time.....

one hour! what can you do in one hour? but I can understand how you feel - I have been blogging for four years now (I have three blogs!) and been on flickr for three - and I spend so much time online that sometimes - well, very often - I have to remind myself that it is not the "real world" - my husband has wondered aloud if I will ever make friends "offline" again :) - but am sure you will find your rhythm soon

(so I finally got here to the 'detox' from flickr! but aren't you having withdrawal symptoms?)

charlotte- Thanks:-)
Britt-Arnhild- Thanks:-)

Charu- Thanks:-)
The reason for a 1 hr time limit was to set an idealistic standard..to begin with and then work my way around it..:-)
Like in my latest post I have realised that a more realistic time limit is 2 hrs which works well for me:-))
