Dakshinachitra.

Dakshinachitra - a heritage & cultural centre few kms from Chennai is a must-see place for those who love ancient architecture of South India. Here you can see traditional homes from Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh & Tamil Nadu.

Crafts Fairs, Festivals of Folk Performing Arts & Activities are organised by Dakshinachitra. You can buy handmade crafts directly from the artisans. Learn traditional games & crafts like basket weaving, pottery etc.

This time around they had 'Golu' - A tradition where colourful idols of Hindu Gods & Goddesses are displayed on shelves at different levels during Dusshera.

Love the whole village ambience.

Amazing post . DakshinaChitra has collaborated with Nalandaway to create DakshinaChitra Arts Lab to work with children from under privileged communities, who face economical and societal challenges. There are different Dakshinachitra timings for different events and activities.
