Megha barso...

* monsoons here in India is a dream, a memory, a fragrance, a taste...
* paper boats sail away in narrow flowing streams.
* shubha mudgals voice singing 'Seeko Na' gets stronger in my ears.
* the heart yearns for classical music and out comes all the raagas from cds and cassettes ( do people still listen in that format?)
* hot onion pakoras are fried.
* colourful umbrellas pop-up everywhere.
* slushy puddles.
* flowers enjoy their daily showers and trees sway to the gentle breeze.
* the smell of corn being roasted on charcoal.
* getting drenched to the bones
* cups and cups of Ginger chai...
* sleeping to the sound of the steady rain in the night.
Enjoy this moment. Enjoy the Monsoons. Enjoy your weekend.
* Megha Barso...Clouds, rain down:-)

SHOES JOURNEY
Shoes have their own journey
Feet their own
Journey has its own shoes
Your writhing heels will know

After stiletto dance sequel

Shoes in their renovated rack
Will talk of thier own pain
Like your feet do to my palms

And the journey ahead

Oh Arch - you post made me nostalgic. When I first came to US people used to find it weird when I told them that I loved rain - but I still love Indian rain. I wish you could bottle up the scent of the dirt getting soaked in the first rain and send it my way - I miss that smell so much. Great post and great pictures.

It is exactly what I miss the most about India - the smells and the fragrances of heavy monsoon rain, and the good-nature attitude of most people during the season.
