Living in the dream...

The delightful season of spring is so short in Minnesota that it seems like a dream.
A beautiful dream.
So I decide to enjoy every minute while I was in this dream and capture few frame to remember later:-)
My walking path on a magical spring day.

Crabapple Blossoms.

 A branch brings beauty inside.

A peek at the season.

She danced with wild flowers in her hair.

 Fruits bursting with flavour.

A floral path.

 Pink Honeysuckle.

 Pink Lemonade.

Lake Harriet water reflecting the fluffy clouds and blue blue sky.

 Cherry Blossoms.

 Lily of the valley.

 Lilacs.

 Peonies.

 Pansies.

Have you ever stood under a Willow tree?

I pass by a huge Willow tree most of the days while driving to do my everyday chores.
There is a Stop sign few yards from the tree, so I look up at this huge tree as I press the brakes.
Long locks of freshly sprouted yellow tree buds hang evenly around the trunk.
Swaying gently as the cool spring breeze caresses the new buds.
Today I felt a deep urge to go stand under the graceful willow.
As everyone around me drove past going about their daily work.
I stood right under it. Looking up at what I imagined to be the heart of the tree.
Yellow ropes enveloping me as they made a light whispering sound.
A sense of deep happiness. A sense of calm.
Just savouring the moment.

I finish my moment and walk back into my car with bright yellow hues in my pupils.

Beauty in available light...

It's been grey and rainy.
It's spring here.
I want sunshine.
..but I decide to shoot with whatever light diffuses through my windows.
My subject. Flora at home. Some succulents.

Surprised at the results…

Note to self~ Try something new everyday.

Whiteness of white | Stillness of mind.

I recently got on instagram.
Where I can share moments in the form of visuals instantly.
No fuss. No downloading from the camera.
Just click on your phone and click to upload.
It's a lot of fun.

But...
Strangely when I want to slow down. Reflect. Muse. Take a step back.
I always seem to find comfort in the pace of writing a post on my dear blog which has been sitting silently like the rose bush under all the white snow that has been layering it for the last few months.
Time has come for it to sprout.
…and so has the time for revival.

When one lives in a place where winters take up most of the time in a year.
It takes a slight shift in thinking, working, living.
This spring I complete a whole year of being consumed by a passion called pottery.
It has been my creative anchor during all the snow storms and polar vortexes that we experienced this winter.

Here is a tribute to all the whites we have been seeing in the last few months and an interesting Podcast about Seeking Stillness and Silence in the Rush of Business Life by Pico Iyer.

Spring is finally here after a fierce battle with winter and I hope to share loads of colours in various forms:-)
Stay tuned. Hope to spend more time here.

Have a great weekend!

Pottery progress...

At the end of my Spring session of pottery lessons, I came home with a few small pieces which were fired proof of my elementary accomplishment in this beautiful creative craft.

Lots of imperfections, but loved creating each and every piece.
A tiny planter for my jade plant.

My first plate with a blue glaze.
A crazy glaze on my first cup.

A not so perfect wall was turned into a pout bowl;-)
